Not bad

The grocery side is not as easy as other supermarkets, but the rest is fairly easy to use and offers a great choice of products...

EFFICIENT AND FRIENDLY

Asda, as usual delivered my shopping within the allotted time frame. Delivery man was friendly and helpful.
Only thing that bugged me a little was the replacement items, couple bore no resemblance at all to what I ordered, eg ordered packet of cheese savoury snacks, replacement was pack of baby Bel cheeses. not even close. That apart, satisfied with the service

Great Price & So Helpful.

It's funny how prices can be so similar between Asda and others, but the experience so very different.

For example; Morrisons, you can use the self-checkout and you'll have a security guard and a customer service member watching over you like a hawk, where as Asda, customer service are at hand, but not watching over you like your a shoplifter.

Asda is the cheapest supermarket

I like Asda goods, they are of high quality. But I shop there only for things I forgot, as they do not have a loyalty card which gives me the things my Tesco Clubcard does.

Good Value shopping

Always the cheapest place to shop. Sometimes let down by the quality in the fresh fruit and veg but very rarely beaten on price.

Awful service from Asda & Yodel

I placed the order on the 7th May and I was called on the 9th to arrange delivery with Yodel. The date given to me was the 11th May and I was told that 7am-8am was the only delivery time available despite explaining that the store did not open until 1.30-8pm or I would have to opt for a different day and hope that it was later in the day. This in itself was pretty poor but I agreed to the 7-8am time.

I opened up the store to allow the delivery (gated) at 6.30am and was left waiting there until a phone call at 3pm! The phone call was from Yodel to explain that they would not be delivering today as Asda had not given them the item yet. I contacted Asda, who in turn contacted Yodel, to be told they did have the item but it was still in there depot down in England, even though it had been scanned in at the Airdrie depot on 9th May.

I would like to point out at this point that the Airdrie depot is 30mins by motorway from the delivery address.

After numerous other phone calls I was told that they now had the parcel and that they may try and deliver the item in the next 72 hours. I still had not received the item on Monday so I again called Asda to be told that they would contact Yodel and find out what was going on.

I then received a call to say that he had tried but the lines were busy at that time and that he was finishing in 15minutes and could he call me tomorrow instead. I said that was unacceptable so he then said he would arrange for a colleague to deal with it on my behalf and they would call me back.

No one called me back from Asda.

On the evening of the 14th , as they now had the parcel, I was then given a rescheduled delivery date of today (16th May) and allocated the 12-4pm time slot from Yodel.

At 9.05am on the 16th I received a voicemail to say that delivery would not be taking place as they did not have the item. I immediately called Asda, who then contacted Yodel and told me that this was a mistake and they did not know why I had been told this as the delivery was scheduled to go ahead from 12-4pm.

Becoming extremely frustrated I also contacted Yodel via their Twitter page and they confirmed that delivery would take place today.

I went in and opened up the premises at 11.30am again out with the listed hours and once more no delivery was attempted. I contacted Asda at 16.42pm, who again contacted Yodel, and they said they had spoken to the driver and delivery would be made before 5.30pm as the item was on a van and on its way. At 16.54pm I received a call from Yodel to say they wanted to let me know that my delivery would not be made today and they have rescheduled for Monday. The reason given was that they had not received the item for delivery until it was too late to go out today. I asked where the item was and they confirmed that it was at the Airdrie Depot. I then said where it has been since the 9th? And was told oh that’s a mistake don’t go by the online tracking we didn’t have it.

After explaining what I had been told the women, lacking any form of customer service skills, said she didn’t know why Asda had told me that and she’d asked everybody in the depot and nobody had told them that and the driver spoke to someone but said he didn’t have it on his van.

I contacted Asda at 17.14pm and immediately asked for a supervisor. After a lengthy wait I was told by the supervisor that yes they had spoken to Yodel and it wouldn’t be delivered today and could they reschedule for Monday and he would refund the postage and give me a £10 voucher. Quite frankly that infuriated me even more, not to mention being constantly referred to as Mrs McCabe (which suggests he hasn’t even taken the time to look at my details.) not to mention the time that has been wasted and the phone calls that have had to made not only in my personal time but during my working hours. To be offered a £10 voucher and be told to wait a further five days was insulting. As I said the depot is 30minutes from my address and to not even attempt to get them to deliver that night or even the next day was just atrocious, I was now being asked to wait til the 21st May for another “attempt” Two full weeks after the order date. Or why not have one delivered from a local store that night which is 10minutes away!

I requested that the order be cancelled and I be refunded because I have had enough, my boss has had enough of me constantly calling on company time and it's left me out of pocket until the refund goes through.

This was part of a birthday gift for my Father as we were having the full garden remodelled for him and there was still a Gas BBQ to be purchased at £299 along with the outdoor dining set of his choice. I would not contemplate allowing my Mother to order it knowing that this company will be trusted to deliver it as we have now been left without the biggest piece of the set.

Yodel’s customer service advisor agreed that the service provided was pretty horrendouson the part of Yodel and that he has said serious training issues need to be addressed and he will investigate the whole thing. I am deeply disappointed with Asda however who offered no further information than that provided online anyway and being the company that I actually paid my money to offered very little in the way of assistance in this whole mess. We shop in Asda stores on a weekly basis but I am so disheartened with the service that has been provided through this whole saga that I am going to take my custom to Morrisons in the future and I will have to purchase the other larger items elsewhere once I confirm that they do not use Yodel.

I will also forward this on to Watchdog as they have an ongoing investigation into Yodel as it appears that the service provided is awful on a national scale.

Prices increasing in store

I started shopping at Asda as the prices seemed very low. As the weeks wore on the prices increased and I noticed that the goods I had bought seemed to increase each week. The smart price goods are amazingly cheap though and I go in once a month mainly for those. Worth the extra travel regularly only when they do the £5 off vouchers.

Asda gets better and better

I shop at lots of different stores and so far Asda is my favourite overall. I think Morrisons just pips it for food freshness and quality but Asda is a nicer shop as it also has clothes. The staff are beyond compare. They are always polite and make you feel important. Well done Asda

WHAT A WAY TO SHOP!

What a way to shop, you only have to unpack the bags and you can order from the seat in your house. Friendly Drivers as well! Also if you have to have a substitute ASDA don't charge you any more then you would have paid.

Take your next shop online with ASDA, you will love it because I do!

Oh and £3 cheapest deliver it's cheaper then the ride there and back to there stores!

Much much better than others!

I started using Asda online after getting many many incorrect orders from Tesco and countless replacements for everyday items that were unavailable! Great service, especially for someone like me that can't stand the crowds and queues!

Great that it is cheaper but website is awful

The products are great and the value too.
The website is awful. When I search for products it cannot find all of them. even if I copy exactly what is on the label of the product I have previously had. It either calls it something different, spells it differently or needs every single word on the label.
Even typing something as simple as 'yoghurt' will not bring up the full choice of youghurts. I have to type in brands.
The search is better if i go to specific sections such as dairy, but typing products in the search box can get frustrating when trying to see a range of brands.
The 10% difference promise is great and is what keeps me ordering from Asda

Could be better

Asda really should have it all, but unfortunately they do fall down sometimes when their website says something is in stock but actually isn't when it comes to delivery!

Absolutely rubish! once too many

As a regular tesco delivery shopper i decided to have a go at ASDA. I live in Ipswich and ordered a 250£ shopping list online. It all started with a morning call saying that their van broken down from Colchester's ASDA to Ipswich (there are 2 huge ASDA in Ipswich). That fair enough, they told me that would be returned and would come in another van between 4 and 5pm. At 5.45 my goods arrive in a private car (non refrigerated) by a very polite driver that admitted not being insured to drive his car as a business/delivery of goods.
As we get most of our items we realize that is a huge portion of items missing (mostly frozen items) and the driver said the there is nothing to sign that he just delivers and if we have problems we have to call the number on the invoice.
We go through what we received. All chilled meats were warm, bananas were black, most foods were in their use by date, salad was moldy and all frozen items missing + some chilled ones.
We rang the number on the delivery note and we've been told that the manager would ring us back that evening. It never happened. I had to ring their costumer service again (another long 40p/min call) where i was then told that the missing items would be delivered at 5-7pm today. I complained about the delivered being out of date/moldy and warm meat and they told me that the driver cant go before we check all the stock and we're happy with it and that we could send it all back ( as opposite to what the driver told us), the answer to the driver admitting that he wasnt insured to drive his private car as a food delivery van was "Rubish!" and followed by "all our drivers are insured to drive any car as a business vehicle, including their private cards" (Which is a lie) and that " we can delivered chilled products without a refrigerated vehicle if it takes less than 30 min" (which is another lie) and surely they cant deliver multiple orders from Colchester to Ipswich within 30 minutes as the driver took at least 20min driving from Colchester to Ipswich plus 15min dropping everything in my house and he had extra orders in his car to deliver(full packed hatchback).

From bad costumer service, out of date food, moldy, missing items, uninsured drivers, no refrigerated van to lies, I would NOT recommend Online ASDA Delivery to anyone.

Asda not getting the bacon

Went to Asda today to buy some bacon. Their 3 for £10 deal packs are labeled "Thick Sliced" when I picked one up the slices were about 1mm thick, if thats "Thick Sliced" then I'd hate to see their "Thin Sliced" bacon.

I went to Tesco instead where I found some nice thick bacon at least 3mm thick, cooked nice as well and stayed virtually the same size when cooked not like Asda's crap which shrivels up.

Good

Its good for clothing and everything else however I find fruit and vegetables section a bit of a challenge. I had some trouble to get everything I need and I end up going to Sainsburys for my missing veggies.
Apart from this I find Asda very good.

Good but room for improvement

I tend to do a fair bit of Grocery online shopping with Asda. I except subs, but everytime my order arrives it contains subs. In fairness, they never give you a lesser item as a sub. It would be nice to receive exactly what i order.

I do my food shop at Asda on line.

I do my food shop at asda on line because I like their prices and their site, its so easy to use.The Asda price guarantee 10% is also good, puts any price guarantee monies into your account to use next time you shop, only one thing wrong with that, is they do not leave it in your account long enough to use I do my shopping monthly on line and this time it was 5 weeks when I went to use the money I had standing from the 10% guarantee it had been taken from my account which was a disappointment.

Offers on the tags are wrong so often!

How often did that happen to you that you see an offer on a product and then after paying you find out that there is a different price on the receipt???
This basically happens every time to me when I do my grocery shopping at asda!!! And this is quite annoying!!! In fact, you can claim your money back at the customer service point but you do not want to queue for a pound, do you?
So, Asda should definitely monitor their prices, offers and tags because they are basically cheating on their customer!!!

There cheaper and better quality!

I used Asda for the 1st time last thursday for home delivery there website is fantastic easy to find items deals clearly laid out so you dont miss anything delivery was cheaper the items were as requested a couple of substitutions the driver friendly helpful polite. i compared my shopping with tesco and it was about 20 quid cheaper! along with the delivery also being a couple of quid cheaper i would highly recommend them.

Dissapointed!

Don't think i will be using the delivery service again, on the website Pepsi's where shown at £1.99 for 6, but when you go to check out they where £3.79, i phoned up about this and was told its for in-store only, but it doesn't say that on website....Typical Asda Con!

Halifax store very reliable

I have only had one or two slight problems with Asda online.
I have used them very often, and once , maybe twice my delivery has been outside of the slot. Obviously, sometimes this cannot be helped, but calling me very close to, or just after my slot expiry isn't acceptable. If a delivery van is running late, they know before this and i think they should give their customers a call sooner.
Also, I did once have a substitution that wasn't as good value as what i had ordered(due to an offer). As I tend to shop for value, this wasn't the best move by Asda.

Other than that, I am very happy overall.
