Proberly the most useless delivery service I have ever used. They tell me they tried to deliver and left a card on two occasions. But they didn't know I have cctv which proved they never turned up. If you are bored and have lost the will to live try and contact them by phone.

Further to my earlier Review (below at bottom), I have had further problems with Yodel. READ ON...I assure you, you won't have read anything quite like this!
I bought an Item via Amazon. I was aghast to discover that it had been passed to YODEL for delivery! YODEL eventually brought my Item down to my local YODEL Depot in Newton Abbot, Devon. Then, inexplicably, it forwarded it in the opposite direction to the West Midlands! After my complaint dated 23 Apr 12 to Amazon (the Seller), Yodel returned my Item to Newton Abbot.
This Item was NOT delivered by YODEL to the correct address (my Royal Mail PO Box at my local Royal Mail Delivery Office). Instead, it was dumped on the floor in the public entrance foyer of the nearby Royal Mail Post Office. The driver did not even pass the package to the Post Office staffs, who serve behind a glass screen in an adjacent room. It was NOT signed for or brought to the attention of any staff member there. Instead, he simply dumped it on the floor near the entrance doors! It was left in a place that any member of the public could have simply and unseen, picked up the package and walked off with it. Eventually, a PO customer mentioned to a PO clerk that there was a suspicious parcel on the floor on the entrance foyer. On inspection, my carton was discovered there by a PO staff member, who picked it up from the foyer floor and took it round to the Delivery Office at the rear of the Post Office building. The carton was wet and badly ripped. Please see pics.
THERE ARE NO WORDS FOR MY DISGUST AND CONTEMPT.
Earlier Complaint:
Here is the way this despicable company treated me:
An Item I bought online was passed to YODEL on 13 Apr 12. After 4 days of silence from Yodel and inconclusive online Tracking Information, I spoke with Yodel on 17 Apr circa 1800 hrs. It took over 10 mins to answer my call. Its staff member advised me that details of my parcel were not available. It should have been delivered to me on 16 Apr. He did not know why. He said he could not ring the Depot as it closed at 1730 hrs daily. He promised me that I would receive a call from the Depot between 0800/0900 hrs the next morning. The call was not received.
I rang Yodel again on 18 Apr. After 10 mins of holding, another staff member took my call. He then cut me off. I rang again, entered the 16 numbers of the tracking number, and was cut off. I rang back. After another 10 minute queue, a third staff member told me that the parcel was “probably lost” and that today was the last day before a “trigger” is raised by the client (company I bought from) and a refund is made. She advised that my local depot should be scanning the parcel each day, but had failed to do so. The last time it had been scanned was 14 Apr, its day of arrival there. She also advised that she was unable to ring the Depot, as she did not have an outside line. She advised me to contact the supplier, which could escalate the matter through Yodel Premier Customer Services (which I was not allowed to contact).
I had by then been without an essential household item for 2 weeks. I’d had more than enough of waiting in day after day for delivery of an Item that Yodel could not trace.
My Item was finally delivered without advice or warning on a Saturday morning 21 Apr. Yodel had taken 8 days to deliver, had failed to update online its own tracking number, and ostensibly, had “lost" the Item.
Incidentally, you may find the unlisted geographical telephone numbers for Yodel HQ and its Depots at saynoto0870.com
The long depressing list of complaints on this site highlights how incompetent and inefficient Yodel really is. To Hell with this disgraceful company.

A super quick delivery but only 2 stars as my item was left outside my door on a public pavement and not in a 'porch' as claimed by Yodel.
As i was at home all afternoon, I didn't hear my doorbell nor a knock on the door and no notification that the package had been left outside.
The result of this is that a package was left outside overnight on a public footpath in the pouring rain.
From my experience, Yodel might be quick at delivering items but their service is rotten. I am not surprised so many items are lost or returned because of these elementary and lazy measures.
A very long story, with lots of irate phone calls, missing and undelivered parcels that I never did receive.
Pretty much the worst company i've ever dealt with.
They was trying??? to deliver my parcel for two weeks. Customer service each time told me different story. Not rec
I have had an item waiting at the delivery office 2 miles away for almost 2 weeks. I have been told by yodel on different occasions that they had tried to deliver and left a note - lies. They then said my address was wrong - How did they deliver the non existant note? I was promised 5 separate delivery times - none appeared. My wife had ordered something else and it was delivered by yodel the next day - how did they do that if the address didn't exist? Have now had refund on item from the company concerned
AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU WANT YOUR ITEM DELIVERED!
If you want to rearrange delivery of a parcel its easy, however anything else is complicated by the fact its not easily set out and explained what you need to do...

Took a month from order to arrival of a pair of shoes. Company despatched within one day of order it was Yodel who were sat on the delivery for weeks and being unable to track it with the number provided.
Second delivery via Yodel was a present of a bouquet of flowers for my birthday - they arrived 2 days late and looked very limp indeed.
Would not recommend this company for a courier service to anyone!!

A very efficient delivery company with very nice, competent drivers
very quick delivery but unfortunately cant leave parcels in a safe place like other companies can do, which can be a bit of a bind especially if neighbours work, otherwise very good
Had bad experiences with this company! It seems their drivers cannot follow simple delivery instructions. Leaving items with neighbours when clearly instructed not to do so! Also delivering in the evening???
package came battered and had holes in this, leaving me without 1 supplement.
Will not opt to use this company again.
Have had a few deliveries where I have arranged collection only to be given some not all of the delivery and had to return a number of times to complete my collection of missed deliveries despite querying whether or not I have all the referenced deliveries on the cards. Inefficient, no customer care or attention.
I used this company, not by choice, but was forced to by Amazon when my kindle needed to be sent back to them. Organised online, received no confirmation, was asked to put in special pick up instructions, which I did, totally ignored. Ended up having to drive 10 mile round trip to take the kindle to them.not impressed.
I ordered a pair of trainers that were due to be delivered by this so called delivery company!! I was told what day they were due to be delivered and waited. long story cut short after another week of waiting I drove the 70 mile round trip to get them from their depot after calling to let them know what I was doing so they could get them ready for me. When I arrived they had no idea and could not find them neither, I came home only to find they had delivered them!! This company is unorganized and incompetent
Item arrived and as i was out was left with next door not just a horrid calling card :)
I was out so Yodel left a card stating that they would deliver the goods the next day - they didn't. I phoned the number on the card to reschedule the delivery time (I called at different times on numerous occasions) but the phone was never answered.
I had no option but to contact the supplier of the goods I'd bough,t to rearrange the delivery . To my astonishment, the supplier told me that no other deliveries could be arranged as Yodel had tried three times to leave my goods and I was not there to accept them - a blatant lie. Fortunately, I had proof that what Yodel had said was pure invention and the supplier relented and my goods were delivered days later.
Market share is easy to get if you offer the cheapest price to the supplier ( & don't bother with costly details like employing decent staff, training them, manning the phone lines or dealing with the tsunami of customer complaints.)
I refuse to buy online if I learn that Yodel is the carrier and have encouraged my friends to boycott them - they are not worth the trouble and with their underhanded tactics - do not deserve to make a profit.
I make a point of avoiding etailers that use their (poor) service.
Unbelievable.
Order was placed with Asda on the 7th and I was called on the 9th to arrange delivery with Yodel. The date given to me was the 11th May and I was told that 7am-8am was the only delivery time available despite explaining that the store did not open until 1.30-8pm I was told I would have to opt for a different day and hope that it was later in the day. This in itself was pretty poor but I agreed to the 7-8am time.
I opened up the store to allow the delivery (gated) at 6.30am and was left waiting there until a phone call at 3pm! The phone call was from Yodel to explain that they would not be delivering today as Asda had not given them the item yet. I contacted Asda, who in turn contacted Yodel, to be told they did have the item but it was still in there depot down in England, even though it had been scanned in at the Airdrie depot on 9th May.
I would like to point out at this point that the Airdrie depot is 30mins by motorway from the delivery address.
After numerous other phone calls I was told that they now had the parcel and that they may try and deliver the item in the next 72 hours. I still had not received the item on Monday so I again called Asda to be told that they would contact Yodel and find out what was going on.
No one called me back from Asda.
On the evening of the 14th , as they now had the parcel, I was then given a rescheduled delivery date of 16th May and allocated the 12-4pm time slot from Yodel.
At 9.05am on the 16th I received a voicemail to say that delivery would not be taking place as they did not have the item. I immediately called Asda, who then contacted Yodel and told them that this was a mistake and they did not know why I had been told this as the delivery was scheduled to go ahead from 12-4pm.
Becoming extremely frustrated I also contacted Yodel via their Twitter page and they confirmed that delivery would take place today.
I went in and opened up the premises at 11.30am again out with the listed hours and once more no delivery was attempted. I contacted Asda at 16.42pm, who again contacted Yodel, and they said they had spoken to the driver and delivery would be made before 5.30pm as the item was on a van and on its way. At 16.54pm I received a call from Yodel to say they wanted to let me know that my delivery would not be made today and they have rescheduled for Monday. The reason given was that they had not received the item for delivery until it was too late to go out today. I asked where the item was and they confirmed that it was at the Airdrie Depot. I then said where it has been since the 9th? And was told oh that’s a mistake don’t go by the online tracking we didn’t have it.
After explaining what I had been told the women, lacking any form of customer service skills, said she didn’t know why Asda had told me that and she’d asked everybody in the depot and nobody had told them that and the driver spoke to someone but said he didn’t have it on his van. And did I want the Monday delivery slot or not? Why not that day or the next if its there and 30 minutes away!
I contacted Asda at 17.14pm and immediately asked for a supervisor. After a lengthy wait I was told by the supervisor that yes they had spoken to Yodel and it wouldn’t be delivered today and could they reschedule for Monday and he would refund the postage and give me a £10 voucher. To be told to wait a further five days was insulting. As I said the depot is 30minutes from my address and to not even attempt to get them to deliver that night or even the next day was just atrocious, I was now being asked to wait til the 21st May for another “attempt” Two full weeks after the order date.
I gave up and cancelled the order and asked that I be refunded because I have had enough, my boss has had enough of me calling on company time and my Father has been left without the largest part of his birthday gift.
I will also forward this on to Watchdog as they have an ongoing investigation into Yodel as it appears that the service provided is awful on a national scale.
Frankly, they be better off employing a series of primates riding tortoises to get the job done more efficiently.
couldnt organise a drinking session at a brewery. waited in all day as asked for delivery, no show by yodel or phone call to say not. then had to wait 6 more days for delivery then it can without notice (part 1) and then second part was delivered 2 days later.
complained to them and still have had not had any response.
Disgraceful company
This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I was expecting a delivery from an Internet company and yodel never delivered I had to take 2 days off work and the company I ordered from had to re-enbursh me. Then unfortunately I ordered from eBay and the private seller used this company and they left a card with no details on so I had to get the telephone number off the Internet and even then no one would discuss anything with me unless I had a reference number which I didn't as the idiot who had dropped it off hadn't placed one on. I can understand why they don't put a contact number on as they would be bombarded with complaints
Yodel have taken on more work than they can handle, their drivers are forced to lie, telling the Yodel system that there was nobody in, but in reality they just did not have the time to get to you, so they are always behind.
Yodel packages are usually a day late at the moment, sometimes it is days late.
Really bad service from yodel-waited around for my delivery that was meant to be on van and due for delivery but it was a Friday so the driver went back and said no one was home.
I had to arrange another delivery day without a card that was supposedly left by the driver on his fictional delivery.
Will not buy from sites that use yodel.
terrible service, didn't even knock just put an attempted delivery note through, went down to their main office to pick item up and the guy who served me was very abrupt and nasty
I used Yodel to return an Amazon package. They met all the expectations as stated on their website but I think their service could be improved by giving time slost so you don't have to wait in all day (even morning / afternoon / evening would be helpful) they could also have text you with their expected arrival time on the day. If I have to return something again I think I'll use Royal Mail.
The most useless company EVER!!! Pathetic in every possible way!! My expensive parcel delivery failed twice! One been delivered on a day I never requested or was expecting any delivery and the next day one which I reschedule was not even delivered to the correct address.
Contact their customer service and they were as useless and pathetic as the drivers!! Lack of customer service, liars, unhelpful and stupid!! There are no team leader or supervisors, manager to speak to as for some weird reason they are in meetings all the time??
Rang the retail company who in less than 5mins sorted everything out where I had spent 35minwith the useless, pathetic Yodal advisor. The company tells you everything is internal, no number no nothing.
This is the type of company that needs closing down nation wide!! These are the type of company the government needs to close down!!
I have had many items delivered from yodel and they are awful, its a shame the companies that use them don't stop their contracts!! I have many an item just slung over my fence and in to the back garden even though I have complained on several occassions. I was very lucky that one of my purchases wasn't broken as the packaging was extreamly damaged......!!
Its unfortunate that most retailers still seem to use Yodel as their service is appauling. Considering their one job of delivering they seem to fail miserably
Been waiting a week for a delivery from Estee Lauder. Just tracked it through the Yodel Tracking. It says it was delivered 2 days ago and was signed for (Using my surname) I know I was out at the time and have a receipt to prove it.
Looks like - No items and who knows how long it will take for an investigation. BAD service
A day wasted, blissfully unaware of their reputation i took the day off to receive a delivery yesterday when i saw on their tracking website that it was out for delivery.
12 hours later and 3 sets of calls that after 20 mins of holding each time was cut off. I find that my package was lost 10 mins after being scanned by the driver and marked out for delivery, departed the local depot twice (somehow), went in the wrong direction after leaving the depot for the second time, this time it went 20 miles north to another depot (inexplicably), i can see it was an error because it spent all of 2 mins there. then came back to my local depot at 12 am.
i would be more annoyed if it wasn't such a hilarious story, because if i went for standard delivery it would of been royal mail, but i chose to expedite matters and now i'm stuck with this crappy service.
Yodel can kiss my nether regions
Today I was standing less than a metre away from front door when I saw a card being pushed through the letterbox. Two seconds to open the door and delivery guy was racing down the street. He had not knocked at the door, although he insisted he had. The parcel had been left at the first house in street - 8 doors away. I insisted that the delivery guy went back and collected the parcel and delivered it properly. I was furious as we had had a similar experience at Christmas when we made sure someone was at home and a card appeared silently through the letterbox. i don't understand that when we clearly have a bell it is not used. it makes me think twice about ordering from Very or Amazon. The service is doing both businesses no favours.
We watched as a Yodel driver dashed up to our gate as we tried to get to the door. Being disabled we are a bit slow but not that slow. Before either of us managed to get to the door the driver had put a card through the letter box and disappeared.
Now if this had happened once I would have said that we just were not quick enough but even when the driver saw me through the window he still made off. Amazon should stop using them as they give this company a bad delivery reputation.
They are even worse than Parcel Farce and that takes some doing..
Have asked amazon not to use this company. I can honestly say this is the worst courier company I have ever had the misfortune to come across. They knock your door with a feather, will not leave with neighbours and the depot closes before you get home from work, so contacting them is impossible. Read what others say about them on the web>
Their service is now so bad that I won't order from anyone who uses Yodel as their delivery company.
Where do I start?
Items not delivered, items said they were delivered and not, items delivered and they have my signature when they don't, items left on porch (I don't have a porch, it's an open bit of ground for the local opportunist to swipe whatever is there), items delivered at 11 o'clock at night, large order items delivered with other items in order missing, complains not dealt with, complaints not even acknowledged, delivery drivers with bad attitude, delivery drivers with serious personal hygiene problems (I wouldn't normally write something derogatory like that but it was like she had been pulled through a swamp and left dirty smell and marks on my small packages and in my hallway)
I ordered a birthday present for my fiancé from amazon on 4th May 2012, 9 days before his birthday. The parcel was sent by amazon, using Yodel on 4th May and amazon provided me with a tracking number for the parcel and an estimated delivery date of 10th May. I checked the tracking information on 8th May and it said that a delivery attempt had been made and a card put through the door as there was no one in. I may have been out at that time but there had not been a card put through the door. On 9th May I checked the tracking information in the morning and it said it was out for delivery again so I waited a while but then had to go out and when I got back I checked the tracking information and it said "unable to locate". Then on the evening of 9th May, about 9pm, there was a Yodel card put through the door, I assume by a neighbour that had a note on the bottom "please contact me as not know wich is your post/door". There was no mention of who to contact or how. As I had received that card I called the "automated service" number on the back of the card, as that was the only form of contact I could see, on 10th May and the first person I spoke to couldn't find the parcel and said it might be the wrong department so transferred me to someone else who tracked the parcel and told me it was on the way, it should be there soon. I asked about the note on the card I had and if the driver not being able to find the house would be a problem. He said it would be fine, I should just wait for the parcel. I waited, I was in the rest of the day and then a couple of hours later checked the tracking online and that said that there had been a delivery attempt and there had been no one to receive the package and a card had been left. They definitely had not tried at my house as I had been at home at the time mentioned and no one knocked on the door or put a card through the door. I then got in contact with amazon to see if they could help because I needed the package to arrive before the weekend (so on Friday 11th May), in time for the birthday. Amazon spoke to Yodel and told me they would deliver the package on 11th May. I was doubtful that I would actually get the package though as all three previous attempts seemed to have been to the wrong place. I tried emailing yodel through their online "contact us" service but did not get a reply. Then on the morning of 11th May I tried calling Yodel, using the number found on saynoto0870.com and first did not get a reply. I then tried a different number from there and was told I was through to Edinburgh and I needed Norwich. The woman gave me an 0844 number for Norwich. I managed to find a number that said it was for norwich on saynoto0870.com but was told I had the wrong Norwich number and was given the same 0844 number again, could they not have put me through?
I ended up calling the 0844 number and spoke to someone who was actually very helpful, she said she would speak to the driver and find out when he expected to be with me. I also asked if she could find out where he had been trying to deliver the package to, and if he could leave it with the shop (next door) if unsuccessful. She then called back to tell me she had spoken to the driver and he had been trying to deliver to a house with the same number but on a different road and he would be with me in about 40 minutes. I did get a call from the driver about 20 minutes later, asking where my house was, I told him and about a minute later had a knock on the door, the parcel had arrived, finally! He had been trying to deliver it to some flats down the road or something. This is the first time I have had someone not be able to find my house, it's not one of those houses that people have difficulty finding.
They sat on my parcel for a week, didn't bother to contact me. On ringing up I was told it would arrive on the Friday and I would be contacted to let me know what time. No phone call came, I phoned them on the Friday and a rude employee told me it was the suppliers fault and I had to contact them, offering no explanation or apology. When I said it's yodel's fault as they have had my item for a week and it hasn't moved from the depot and I want to speak to a manager, I was told it's against company policy to transfer me to the manager. I asked how I am therefore supposed to complain, and was told I can't, as it's not their fault. Still no delivery. I have no idea why big companies continue to use this terrible service, do they not care about their customers, or read customer reviews of the delivery service they are thinking of using? I certainly won't buy anything online being delivered by yodel again.
